In 1970, a failed theatre actress is recruited by MI6 (the United Kingdom's Secret Intelligence Service) for a covert mission: to secure, by any means necessary, the release of England’s national football team captain, Bobby Moore, who has been arrested in Colombia just days before the Mexico ‘70 World Cup. If Moore does not play, England risks losing the title.

Posing as sports journalists, the actress and a seasoned secret agent must travel to Bogotá and manipulate judges, bribe police officers, blackmail officials, seduce whoever stands in their way, or fabricate false evidence—all without turning the star player into an Interpol fugitive. Conspiracies, deception, and betrayal will push the limits of this unlikely British duo as the clock ticks and the fate of England hangs in the balance.
